IN-D9 Absolute inclinometer
Measures absolute tilt in applications sensitive to temperature and long-term drift. Supports self-calibration on command or on schedule.

Application and connection
Designed for precise absolute tilt measurements where temperature and long-term drift matter. The manufacturer describes IN-D9 as its most accurate tilt sensor. It uses the proprietary PN-4 pendulum transducer mounted on a precision rotary platform.
The primary transducer is an axially symmetric metal capsule filled with electrolyte, with five electrical leads. It contains a central moving electrode acting as a strongly damped pendulum and four side electrodes. Tilt changes the position of the central electrode and the resistance of the electrolyte-filled gaps; the electronic unit converts these changes into output signals.
