Storage tank monitoring
Monitoring foundation settlement, wall deformation, and tank tilt.

What we monitor
- Tank foundation settlement
- Wall deformation
- Structural tilt
From on-site measurements to information for staff
Parameters and instrument selection depend on the structure, operating conditions, and existing systems.
On-site monitoring
We select measurement points and instruments for the changes being monitored.
Collection and transmission
We connect measurements to the shared system using the available communication and infrastructure.
Monitoring and events
We set up archives, change visualization, and alerts for responsible staff.
Purpose
The system tracks the condition of a vertical storage tank, its foundation and supporting ground. Measurements help detect settlement, tilt and wall deformation early and inform on-site staff.
Monitored parameters
- Differential settlement of the tank foundation
- Deformation of the tank wall
- Tank tilt
- Ground temperature conditions where the tank stands on permafrost
Monitored assets
- Vertical steel storage tanks
- Tank foundations
- Supporting ground, including permafrost
Possible system components
The following families and instruments are examples. The final selection is defined by the project.
Settlement sensorsHSSG Hydrostatic level sensorMeasures vertical displacement and structural settlement from changes in liquid levels in connected vessels. Suitable for foundations, hydraulic structures, and geotechnical monitoring.
Settlement sensorsLNGG Displacement sensorMonitors movement along two or three coordinates. The measurement system includes a laser emitter, target, and electronic unit.
TiltmetersB-IN-Q2M Beam inclinometerTracks relative movement of structural elements. Multiple beam inclinometers form a chain to monitor the profile of a tunnel, bridge, or tank wall.
TiltmetersIN-D9 Absolute inclinometerMeasures absolute tilt in applications sensitive to temperature and long-term drift. Supports self-calibration on command or on schedule.
Temperature sensors and stringsTHLG-D00 1-Wire thermistor stringMeasures temperature at multiple points along a cable. The 1-Wire interface connects it to data acquisition equipment.
TiltmetersMS-IN-Q2M Inclinometer chainConnects biaxial inclinometers into a measurement chain. Tracks position changes at multiple points on a structure.Let’s discuss your task
