Bridge monitoring
Monitoring displacement, deformation, and dynamic behavior of bridge elements.
Discuss your facility
What we monitor
- Span deflection and displacement
- Pier deformation
- Vibration under load
From on-site measurements to information for staff
Parameters and instrument selection depend on the structure, operating conditions, and existing systems.
On-site monitoring
We select measurement points and instruments for the changes being monitored.
Collection and transmission
We connect measurements to the shared system using the available communication and infrastructure.
Monitoring and events
We set up archives, change visualization, and alerts for responsible staff.
Purpose
The system collects data on bridge behaviour under normal and varying loads. Monitoring supports, spans and structural dynamics helps identify deviations earlier and plan inspections.
Monitored parameters
- Tilt and horizontal displacement of piers and abutments
- Deflection and deformation of spans
- Stress in beams and other load-bearing elements
- Movement of a span relative to its supports
- For cable-stayed bridges, pylon deformation and cable tension
- Bridge vibration frequencies and mode shapes
- Wind direction and speed, and precipitation
Monitored assets
- Bridges
- Viaducts
- Overpasses
Possible system components
The following families and instruments are examples. The final selection is defined by the project.
AccelerometersAN-Q2M Triaxial accelerometerMeasures structural vibration acceleration along three axes. Used in building and structural monitoring, including stay-cable monitoring.
Displacement sensorsJMG-01-25 Joint displacement sensorMonitors opening at joints in concrete structures. Installed in formwork before concreting to measure linear displacement.
Displacement sensorsCMG-D21 Displacement sensorMeasures linear displacement and crack opening. An RS-485 digital output connects instruments into a shared measurement line.
Displacement sensorsCMG-D22-LoRaWAN Displacement sensorMeasures displacement, stores results, and transmits them over LoRaWAN on schedule. Battery operation supports autonomous monitoring points.
Strain gaugesRSS-R Rebar stress sensorMonitors strain in reinforced-concrete reinforcement. Incorporated into the rebar cage by welding or couplings.
Strain gaugesSVWG-12-EC Embedded vibrating-wire strain gaugeEmbedded vibrating-wire sensor for measuring concrete strain. Tracks strain changes and temperature at the installation point.Let’s discuss your task
